Our 30th LEARN library was opened on 30 July 2025 at Danganya Primary School. A significant date in the history of the school as we celebrated the grand opening of this beautiful library, proudly sponsored by the AES Charitable Trust. An enriching space where dreams are ignited and endless possibilities await. The place of wonder and exploration, where imaginations run wild and knowledge is gained, where travel is possible and places are explored.
The official opening was a vibrant celebration of colour and hope through creative arts and acts by talented learners and committed teachers in the school as they showed immense gratitude for their school library. It was wonderful to be joined by Inkosi YaseMathulini, The Department of education officials, school SGB, principal and staff of Danganya, key sponsor and LEARN team.

Transformation takes teamwork
It takes initiative and leadership to motivate to become a LEARN beneficiary school and a special mention must be made of Philani Sibiya, The Danganya Primary School librarian who appealed to The LEARN Project for assistance for his school with the most thorough and inspiring motivation letter we have received to date. His dedication and wholehearted commitment to this project helped make this library opening such a success. He helped our team catalogue and accession new books for the library and gathered teachers and learners for set up day to make the process productive. This really embodies the quote, “Many hands make light work” as our LEARN team had the full support of the school. Grateful thanks to Essentials Building for transforming this space with excellence.
”“Thank you for creating a library for our school that encourages curiosity, innovation and problem solving. It plays a key role in supporting and developing literacy and enjoyment of reading for our learners and teachers.”
— MRS ZANDILE MKHIZE, PRINCIPAL
