SALT ROCK, KZN
SA Home Loans was the proud sponsor of the Sizani Primary School library revamp, which was officially launched on 31 May 2018. Although Sizani had a basic existing library, it was in great need of a revamp.
The launch was a special occasion where guests enjoyed listening to the library monitors’ speeches around their theme of ‘UBUNTU’. Guests and teachers were treated to thank yous in some of the many different languages of learners, as well as being presented with beautiful book marks. Sizani has also received 9 Foundation Phase book corners from The LEARN Project, a happy corner in each classroom where children can spend time enjoying books.

Transformation takes teamwork
Under the supervision of librarian Debbie Smith, this room was transformed into a more organised and practical library. The walls were repainted, tables revarnished and library charts and posters set up. A load of books, all processed by the LEARN team and covered in plastic, were placed on the bookshelves and educational resources, library monitor badges and library bags issued. Library monitors were trained and assisted with the set up and the principal, Mrs Ntombenhle July, delighted in the development and transformation of this library.
”“Thank you for coming to our school, for supporting us and in the process of supporting us, equipping us with a beautiful library, book corners and training.”
— MRS NTOMBENHLE JULY, PRINCIPAL
